DIY - Easy photo display

Having recently moved, I really wanted to put some photos of my and family around my new room. I found soooo many photos that I loved, that putting them all in frames was in no way a viable option. So of course I turned to the internet.
I know that this isn't the most original idea and is very simple and easy to do, so much in fact that I probably don't even need to go through it, but think of this as more of an inspiration post if anything.

Step 1 - Edit the photos

In what I saw on the internet, people seemed to be hanging Polaroid photos. I don't have that sort of camera but really love the way the prints look, so I went on the App Store and found 'Polamatic'. This app allows you to edit your photos to look like Polaroids really easy and quickly. You can add a border, choose a filter, and add text.

There are also websites where you can get your photos edited like this professionally and have them printed and sent to you if that's what you'd prefer.

Step 2 - Print

When I printed my photos I used photo paper because I think it looks more polished and professional but if you just want to use ordinary paper then that should look fine too.

Step 3 - Cut out

I would suggest using a guillotine when cutting out your photos. I  learnt the hard way that cutting straight lines with scissors isn't quite as easy as it looks.

Step 4 - Hang

All you need to do is hang some ribbon up (I used 3 metres) and simply use small pegs to clip your photos. It's that easy.

I have hung mine along one wall because that is what worked best in my room. But if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, I think that if you hung it across the room from wall to wall it could look really good.

  1. I've had many a disaster in the past with using scissors to try and cut in a straight line! This is such a neat idea, I love having a sneak peak into other people's homes to get some inspiration for my own! :) x x x
