Watching | Photography

These photos are ones that I recently took as part of my Photography AS project with the title 'sports'. As a starting point, I was really interested in the concept of watching people who are usually classed as the spectators, essentially making them the performers. So I went to a football and rugby match in Toulouse and tried to capture the expressions and gestures of sports fans.
I am aware that this is very much a creepy photography project, and I certainly didn't feel particularly comfortable doing it. Everyone loves a bit of people watching, and I guess this project did force me to be more observant in a setting in which I usually wouldn't be, which I found really interesting. But I did feel like a complete twat turning around to face the people behind me, massive camera in hand, lens extending as I quite obviously zoomed in on their faces. I was half expecting to get a slap really.
This is just the start of my project, so when I've finished it, I'll maybe share with you my final images if anyone's interested.

Necklaces

When it comes to necklaces, you can see that I'm mainly into silver at the moment. I think this is mainly because I'm a bit of a sheep with fashion trends, but I've also always loved how delicate and subtly pretty it looks.

This elephant necklace is possibly the cutest necklace I have ever owned, and I practically lived in it last summer. Because it's so small, I feel like it can go with every outfit and just help to make the outfit feel slightly more complete and put together. This is the case with all these necklaces really. 

I'm in love with this semi precious pendant that I got in Brighton around Christmas, but I went into so many lovely independent shops there that I can't remember the name of the exact one I got it in. If I somehow find out, I'll be sure to add it to this post!   

 

 

Rings

I rarely actually wear rings, just because it never really crosses my mind to. But I think deep down inside I must want to be like a crazy ring lady or something, because I can't stop buying them. I've definitely found Primark to be one of the best places for rings. They have a good selection and you can get stacks of them for only £1-3. My favourite Primark ring that I've found has to be this one with the white stone. I just think It's so pretty and looks more expensive than it is.     

Bracelets

 

If you were wondering, the blue bracelet here is from a market stall in Marrakech, so unless you're willing to take a trip to morocco, it's fair to say that it's unavailable (sorry). I think that's partly the reason I love it so much though, It's not only a pretty bracelet, but also a souvenir from an amazing holiday that I can be pretty sure no one else I know will have. I did also buy a really pretty hamsa bracelet there which I loved just as much, but I lost it about a year ago :(
Sorry I also have no idea where the charm bracelet is from because I got it when I was about 7 from my grandparents, but I do know that it's bloody adorable.

Behind the Curtain | Photography

What with doing a photography A level and also just having an obsession with bringing my camera with me wherever I go, I end up taking a lot of photos. And because it's something I really enjoy and have a strong interest in, I really wanted to start sharing some of my favourite photos I've taken, old and new, here on my blog. So expect to see some long photo posts from now on, starting with these that I took backstage at a local pantomime earlier this year. I loved taking these because, with the over the top costumes, you come across a lot of odd situations that make perfect photo opportunities. I edited this set of photos to greyscale because I love how much more dramatic they seem, and let's be honest, black and white always looks more professional. Also I just want to point out that I do know these people and did have permission, so I'm not as much of a creeper as you might have otherwise thought!
Anyway I hope you like them! 

March Playlist

I thought that instead of typing up my playlist as usual, this month I would try embedding it from Spotify. To me this seems to be a much better way for me to share the music I've been loving with you, but I would of course love to hear what you think in the comments!

Mother's Day | Present Idea

Oops I left this in my drafts a bit long and it's very late notice now, but I thought I might as well post it anyway.



I went to Homebase for the first time the other day, and as I wandered round, I was on the lookout for a small present for my mum that could be easily transported in hand luggage (harder than it sounds). I was just about to leave empty handed when I came across this hanging sign, which is only little, and on the cheap side at just under £4, but I love how relatable it is. I'm pretty sure everyone thinks their family are mad as hatters despite how normal they may seem to the rest of the world, so I love that it could very easily sit in any mum's house and yet still feel very personal. As for the candle, well, that's actually for me... #selfish. But I thought along with the sign, they'd actually make a nice little gift recommendation. My family have never been that big on mother's and father's day, so this might not seem like much of an impressive present to you, but I think it could be a cute way just to show a bit of appreciation on mother's day.
