Not that long ago, I put up a post about how I was considering chopping off half my hair, and after much deliberation, guess what? I did it!
This is the shortest I've had my hair since I was about 5 so it was quite a big deal for me, but I was surprised how quickly I got used to it and grew to love it.
As you can see in the pictures on the right, my hair was getting pretty long, and I'm ashamed to say that I hadn't even had a trim for over a year before this weekend. By that point, the ends of my hair were literally falling out if I even so much as touched it, so this haircut was direly needed, if only for health (of my hair) reasons.
I think the scariest part for me, was not seeing piles of my hair on the floor as you might think, but probably when I realised that I could no longer put my hair up in my trusty I-couldn't-be-bothered-to-wash-my-hair-so-I'm-trying-to-hide-how-greasy-it-is ponytail.
Despite that, I definitely find my hair 1000x easier to deal with, so if you'd like I might experiment a bit and attempt to do a post full of simple hairstyles for shorter length hair.
In case anyone's interested, I got it cut at Tony and Guy, and I just asked the hairdresser for it to be cut just below the shoulders with quite a lot of layers.
I've never enjoyed going to the hairdressers, I find that awkward small talk and staring at myself in the mirror for an hour isn't great for my self esteem, but from my experience, Tony and Guy has been the better of many evils. It's also where I got my hair ombred in September and I was happy with the results then too so I'm sure I'll continue to go there in the near future.
Sorry about the photos, I wanted to show you my hair but it turns out I'm not so great at the whole being attractive thing.
